Hi, this is going to sound crazy, i have a claret hen who was docile laying eggs just all around good bird. I had noticed changes in her temperament and aggression, over the next month her colors changed, feathers became longer and quite colorful. now this hen changed to a rooster trust me i know i sound like a real wack a doodle,but believe it or not it's true can anyone tell me if this is common. any info greatly appreciated. happy cooping.

If the main ovary is damaged (disease, etc.) the testosterone produced by the other ovary can cause a hen to gain the physical looks of a rooster including temperament changes. It cannot turn into a functional rooster because it cannot produce sperm.

X2, physically impossible to change gender.

As explained by @R2elk your hen is just displaying outward characteristics of a male. She could now be considered "it" but she is not male. It is a rare occurrence.
 
Welcome to BYC. I agree with what the others have said. I have been around chickens for a long time :old, and I have seen this happen one time in a friend's flock. We had plans of necropsying the trans bird, but a fox had other ideas.
