Both birds are roosters. The dark one is a Dark Brahma.

I was told that they were Marans like the black birchen maran, but idk chickens.

Marans should only have single combs and the dark one looks to have more of a pea comb going on, but maybe it's just a goofy single comb. The gold one could be a golden cuckoo maran but looks more like a bielefelder based on how yellow the legs are. Just my guess.

I do see on the Golden how it looks more like a Bielefelder for sure.
