What's the minimum for health and happiness? For various reasons, I'm down to 2 hens, one about 1 3/4 years old (slowed down layer), the other a bit younger (laying well). I could just keep the two until next spring; or add one or two more pullets now; or give these girls away, and start fresh with a little group of new chicks. Advice needed and welcome!
