I have buff ofph. that crows like a rooster, has any body had that problem new to chickens

If it's a young bird crowing, it's likely a cockerel. If it's a dominant hen a few years old, it's possible for her to crow.
I have a flock of 7 hens including a 5-year-old banty who crows. I know she's a hen because she used to lay eggs when she was younger. And before she started, I had another hen who crowed (a feisty little scissor-beaked Sebright), who was still laying at the time but has since passed away. She sounded really funny. I wish I still had the recording I made. So, it isn't too rare around here.![]()
Not in a roosterless flock. Even older hens almost never crow if there is a rooster in the flock.Yes, you're right. Both were older. The Sebright was about 3 or 4 when she started in. So having an older hen assume the role of rooster is not too unusual?
