Hen died, no reason why

Went in the hen house yesterday to collect eggs. and thought she was just sitting there. Went to move her to collect the eggs and she was dead. no reason. no illness, just dead. Why would this happen?

Maybe she died laying the egg, like a little chicken heart attack or something. Sometimes you lose the best layers that way.

I had a silkie that did that. Just up and died for no reason. I figured it must have been be a genetics thing. She was a good layer and nice hen. The others were all fine. Happens I guess. Sorry for your loss.
