I have an older hen (I think 4-5) that I found dead in the coop. You can tell she was kicking and her one wing was out like she was dust bathing in the shavings. Her comb was purple (wasn't prior). Her body still felt warm. She has some lice eggs on her feather shafts, but was a normal weight, maybe a little too hefty. The rest of my flock seems fine, no respiratory issues, just some lice which I will treat and some head shaking (probably from lice). She also had a bulge between her toes, but the rest of her foot/leg looked fine with no swelling (didn't look like bumble foot).

It hasn't been too cold here, lows in the upper 20s...

I'm hoping it was just old age with other stressors and the rest of my flock is fine. A light lice infection won't kill a bird unless she had other things going on, right?
