Hen doesn’t want baby

This morning has been eventful, my hen hatched 5 chicks in the end she was left with two and i was taking care of one of hers that had an injured leg, this morning on of her babies managed to escape their cage and got killed by a cat, leaving her with 1, she was kicking and flying around trying to get out and hurting herself and scaring the baby so i let her go and she ran off and laid an egg and left her baby alone, i put the baby inside with the other 2 chicks i’m caring for, while i was trying to find her my 3 other 6 month roosters who were out managed to find her first and were chasing after her and i finally got to her when they tried to step on her and then i brought her inside and tried to show her the baby and she pecked at him :< is there anything i can do for her to want the baby, she does not seem interested in it at all

eh problem resolved, the pecking was temporary and they’re fine with eachother now, mom definitely does not want children and i’m able to care for them and watch them all day, now i’m just hoping they turn out to be hens and not roos

oh yeah totally, i have bad luck with getting all roosters, shes the only girl i’ve hatched, i’m hoping these 3 babies i have are girls but 1 is looking to be a boy & they’re fighting roos so i have to deal with building separate pens so definitely not letting her hatch eggs

At a month old and laying eggs again, she's ready to be done raising them. Totally normal. Hens wean their chicks anywhere from 4-8 weeks. That doesn't make her a bad mom, especially if she was good with them to begin with.
