Hen doing the mating call

Well even though most of my males are not yet a year old they have been making the mating call pretty regular, they sound like a bunch of allycats, and of course i call back at them and they all get going.
Well a little while ago they started and i called back, next thing i see is my cameo peahen making the mating call and yes she is a hen.
I guess all the younger onces picked up the matting call from my older guy but i never figured a hen would call also.
Anyone else know if this is normal for a hen?

i've had hens do this also, my 1.5 year old son tries to mymic the peas call and then the males answer and some of the hens do it also, he loves them when they make noise, a real guy,
