Hen eats eggs?!

I received a little black bantam hen from a friend to start my summer FFA project. I was going to let her hatch the eggs instead of selling them at first, so I would get a few more chickens and hopefully hens. I ran into a problem when she started eating her eggs. It became a chore of having to "steal" her eggs before she could get them. Any advice? Things this might be a symptom of? Similar experiences and what remedies were used? Any help?
