Hen food

Ok thank you I'll do that!

Good luck! While you are adjusting your process, you can use an old pie tin or similar for their feed. Elevate it on some blocks/pavers wood to be around upper leg/chest height, and to try to prevent much spillage. Research some feeders you like before you buy/build one.

Ok shall I give like 5/6 scoops of food?
Do you happen to have a kitchen type scale? You could weigh one scoop and do a little math to see how many scoops you should feed out. I'd guess closer to 5 scoops would be way better than just two.

How much scoops of layers pellets for 23 hens?
No way to tell with that information. A scoop isn't a measurement of quantity or weight and "hens" doesn't account for breeds. A serama will eat a quarter of what a JG will eat.
Ok it's just they don't leave some there to eat later they gobble it up link there's no tomorrow:lau.
There's your sign that your are starving them.
They won't overeat pellets. Chickens need feed available all waking hours.
I just throw the food around and they eat it.
At the moment the food I am giving them is Verm-X range layers pellets natural source of intestinal hygiene.
And I am giving them two scoops A day.View attachment 1624689
Regardless of the size of the scoop, 2 scoops isn't nearly enough food. And you are wasting a lot of feed by 'throwing it around'. They need a proper feeding container.
Leave feed available all day and measure how much they eat and you will know how much they need.

Everyone is different with different setups and situations. Personally I use hanging feeders in my coops but I have a lot of birds (around 300). I feed pellets and there is little to no waste.

They are ISA browns and are 1 year old, their are 23.

She has only ISA Browns. 23 of them.

Once @Clubber1234 weighs her scoop of feed, she will have a better idea on where to start with amount of feed for her 23 birds.

I agree heavy vs light breeds need different amounts of feed daily. Our Black Jersey Giants certainly need more than our Dark Brown Leghorns, for example.

agree - built this and cover it nightly, works like a charm, they have taken to shaking their heads and making a small mess/pile around the feeder, but they dig and scratch and eventually eat it from the mulch.
I had the same problem 'til I cut a 4"-5" piece of the upright tube & inserted it into the "Y" fitting. My other feeder is very similar, but w/o the insert. The birds on that feeder scatter so much feed on the ground that I sometimes have to cap it in the middle of the day, forcing them to clean up their mess.
