hen gasping for air

She died.
We had a 2 day snow storm with over a foot of snow. I have shoveled around the coop and the outside area so if we get snow melt it is away from the coop.
After work today, I am going to remove all the shavings and clean out the coop.
The coop was put on the part of my property that has an agricultural easement. I am wondering if it is too wet there and if that might be affecting the coop.

Sorry for your loss. Having a necropsy done on a body that has been kept cool, is the best way to diagnose a possible problem. Most state vets in the US perform them, and there may be a poultry lab or poultry college near you that could do one. Mold in wet locations can cause aspergillosis. She also was advanced in age, and it can be common to lose hens over 4 years old from crop or reproductive disorders.
