apparently is common in leghorn hens.

I've got a few Leghorn hens.
I do not have any nor had any that had spurs.
Now Welsummers are a different story.

Thanks for the heads up! As a 2 year newbie, now with 3! young brood-bro roos I raised from chicks. So I had to get a bunch more, (many, now 25 total, mostly different breeds) pullet chicks to keep them all happy. I will watch carefully to see which develop larger spurs. None of my 1st mixed 8 ever noticeably did. (My Welsumer never had developed spurs.)
