Hen has abandoned her last 5 eggs

Sounds good :) congrats on the chicks! Just one last tip: Be very careful when you let the chicks and their mother to the rest of the flock. My first 8 chicks I ever had got completely eaten by other hens. So when you do let them out stay with them for an hour or so outside just to see how the other hens react.
Good luck :)

Thanks alot for the advice. They are currently with a golden seabright bantam rooster. Who from my limited knowledge was suffering from stress. He couldn't seem to keep his neck straight. So his head was always on his shoulders. I gave him antibiotics and he seems to be fine now. But when I let him out,the other bantams would attack him. So unfortunately he has to stay in the cage for now. :-( The other seabrights dont really pay much attention, they are too small to try anything but also very cheeky. I only have 3 female g seabright chicks (one has no wings??), an adult seabright hen, a golden seabright rooster and a silver seabright rooster. Other than the other RIR hen and the RIR rooster (daddy). Thats it. We have 5 cats and 2 dogs and they live happily together. But I will watch them like a hawk (so to speak) when I let them out. Hopefully they will go back into the cage at night. But I will need to find out if my brahma chicks are big enough to roam free too.
I truly appreciate you letting me rant and voice my concerns! I am very new to this!

My 12 chicks are jist over 8 weeks old! They have started to wonder off by themselves and I am trying to suss out boys and girls. Beats me! ;-)
I also recently purchased a lavender orpington, a buff orpington and a buff layer? They are 13 weeks old. Apparently they need to be in quarantine for 3 weeks :-( I feel sorry for them! But I had a scare with my rooster where he couldn't move his left side of his body at all. Even his comb was to the side. It was as if he had had a stroke. It took 2 weeks and antibiotics and my own sort of physio to get him well. He couldn't stand, eat or drink :-(
But I am happy to say he is running around the garden as happy and healthy as ever :)
