Hen has gone blind

I think this is what I was hoping you would say and is also the advice I have received from someone elsewhere. I needed to know that it was ok to give her the benefit of the doubt for a while, which I know sounds a bit ridiculous, but I couldn't bear the thought of her suffering. I have ordered some Emerald which is meant to be very good as an intensely nutritious feed to keep her strong. I have ordered a worm test kit to see if she's clear in that respect. I do sometimes think she has a little bit of sight. I will continue and will keep in touch. Thanks ☺
I have the same thing happening with one of my hens. What is Emerald? I would love for this to turn around, but I fear it’s just going to stay this way for her. 😩

After spending the weekend in the house with us and literally not moving off an old plants tray filled with straw, I decided yesterday that the time had come for Racquel. She had eaten very little apart from a few berries and sunflower seeds, and was very swollen. Ascites seemed to be the most likely symptom of something greater going on. I took her to the vets and she had a peaceful end. She's been a great hen with a lovely personality and will be missed.
:(

Sorry, predictive text changed it, it's Emeraid for omnivores. I was recommended it by someone at BHWT. I ended up not using it as I couldn't bear to force feed her when she was seemingly quite clearly suffering from something else that she would not really recover from (the ascites being a symptom of whatever that was). Instead I just offered her lots of different things that I knew she ordinarily loved - some she took, others she wouldn't.
I'm not sure why the sight issue developed, but she wasn't a well hen anyway, as was clear after a few days. I'm pleased i waited though and let things develop before making any decisions - as I was wisely advised there is a lot can happen in a few days and a dramatic turnaround wasn't off the cards until the last couple of days. Wishing you good luck with your girl.
