Hen has new chicks in a recycle bin

The problem is how do I feed them when the hens want to kill me if I go near them. LOL The bin is too high for the chicks to get out.

The hen and chicks will all come out of the bin to eat if food is available on the ground below. Brand new chicks used to jump down from haylofts years ago. Or you can pick her up with gloves, maybe some work gloves or oven mitts. Or hold her gently around the neck and side the other hand under her.

I don't think you understand. LOL These are part game hen, they growl at me if I open the door to put food in there. I will have to put on combat gear and a helmet to go in there !

Well today I got brave and just went in there and took the recycle bin out. The hens were freaking out but the chicks got to their food and water...YAY

I put a clean cat carrier in there (without the door) with fresh hay, so now the chicks can get out easily.

I found that once I learned the trick of it, I could easily handle a fighting hen without hurting her or me. But it did take some practice....
