Hen has somehow popped her hip out of the socket

I don't know how she managed to do it, but my broody, extremely lazy hen has clean popped her hip joint out of its socket. And now I'm stumped. I already spent $1500 last month on a hen with an impacted ovary, I really don't want to spend another $1000 at the vet to have them pop her leg back into place.

Is there anything I can do at home? Or is this something I should only trust a vet with?

I would at least call your vet, and ask for advice. Maybe they could instruct you on how to fix it. How did she hurt herself?

I wish I knew. She's been broody for weeks now, there was nothing she could have been doing to make it pop out of place. I can only assume she took a stumble and landed just wrong on it.

I'll give my vet a call.
