hens may eat their eggs due to a calcium deficiency. Ceramic eggs will definitely help, but sometimes it doesn't. I've dealt with the same problem and the solution that worked for me was hollowing an egg out and gently filling it with mustard and placing it in their nesting boxes. Chickens HATE mustard, it'll stop them right in their tracks. It is a bit of a mess to clean up, but it'll prevent future egg-eating
