Hmmmm..... not sure if that would work or not.... seems like I remember some old posts on the subject. Have you searched the forum?

Things that I would be concerned with....

Full size hen could smash small eggs like those of a quail. If I were going to try I would use a Bantam sized hen.

&

Wonder if hen would be too puzzled by the faster hatch rate and not except the chicks???

Do let us know how it goes.

Yes full size hens would break the eggs, if using bantam use the small breeds like OEGB

Make sure they are pen up with her so they dont get out and get lost.

yea thats kinda what I was thinking. I only have one hen for now she is an EE and went broody on 2 fake eggs, so I took them. the other pullets I have will be bigger then her. guess I'll give it a try when I get a silky hen or two... and looks like I'll start out with live quail not eggs. I don't have or want a brooder, the plan is to get silkys and let them do the work

Actually Bantam Or Full Size--- Doesnt Matter If They Dont Break The Eggs Sittin' Them They Will Certainly Smother The Babies When They Hatch...

Suggestion- Buy The Hen Some Chicken Eggs To Sit And Incubate Your Quails.
