Is there a way to get a chicken to go broody??? Is there anything that can set them up???

I am still new to chickens....but I read a post....talking about with supervised watch (from you) when your hen is nesting to switch the eggs with chicks!? BUT you must watch to see her reaction.[IMG]
(does she sit on her eggs at all?)[IMG]

Switching eggs with chicks is done when the hen is already broody and sitting on eggs, usually when the eggs are not fertile. Broodiness involves genetics and hormones. Nothing we can do to cause it to happen. Man will never go broody; it has been bred out of many modern breeds, to increase egg production, as they don't lay when broody.
