hen injured by tom

My hen has a very bad gash on her back under her wing.
Looks like the tom's toenails ripped the skin open.
They were 1 yr old in March so this is their first breeding season.
The tom still hasn't quite figured it out- he stomps her until she can't stand it and gets away from him.
I coated the wound with Neosporin and will begin Duramycin in her water
tomorrow.
Anything else I should do -or do differently ?
Thanks for any advice.
 
Depending on the severity of the gash she probably needs to be separated from the tom. It will only get deeper with breeding attempts. May want to put in a couple of sutures if it is realy long and deep already.
