    Hello:

I have 4 laying hens, and someone told me that without having a rooster around, one will act like a rooster and not produce eggs. Fact or Fiction?????

    Thanks

Quote:Well, one hen will be the dominant one, boss the others around, and may grow a larger comb (my Mary Lou did), but she will still be a hen and lay eggs. If not, she may really be a rooster! Anytime you have more than 1 chicken around, one will be dominant, M or F. If you have a rooster with a flock of hens, usually he is the dominant one.
