I have a hen who is about 5 1/2 months old--she is a black silky (Abagail). She will occasionally act lethargic and withdrawn from the rest of the flock. Other times, she is relatively active and social. The other black silky, the two Rhode Island Reds and the two Americanas are all acting normally. Abagail seems to eat a little less than the rest of the chickens, but is not as interested in the normal feeding ritual. The comb above her beak is wavy and sort of pink in color. The top edge is grayish. The other black silky's comb is a darker red, firmer, and has a darker edge.
This behavior has been going on for about 2 weeks. Last week, she was given a concoction of yogurt, oatmeal, and wet minced garlic. This was recommended to treat her for worms (which I don't believe she had, anyway). Her stool went from runny to a more normal solid after the concoction was administered. However, her lethargic behavior and occasional social withdrawal has not ended.
I have read all of the articles and cannot seem to find anything that fits Abagail's behaviors/symptoms. Any suggestions?
