Good to hear that she's better than before. Hens that get egg bound are more susceptible to getting egg bound again. However, some hens will get egg bound once, and then be perfectly fine for the rest of their lives. How old is she, and how long has she been laying? Hens new to laying occaisonally get egg bound because their reproductive systems aren't quite used to the laying process yet. Older hens may have other problems, like internal laying, that make them more likely to get egg bound.Believe it or not, my hen layed her egg and is eating again. I tried the calcium using tums. I brought her in the house because our temps are going to drop and I would like her to rest and stay warm. Will the eggbound issue no be something she will get all the time? I give them oyster shell in a separate dispenser so I don't know why she became eggbound. Any ideas?
