I went through the dog meds and have amoxicillin (500 mg capsules), metronidazole (500 mg tablet) and also cephalexin (500 mg capsules). The order from Jedds is estimated delivery March 4th.

Go ahead a start her on the amoxicillin or cephalexin.Let's see if it causes her to improve.
Which one is preferable? How much, how long and how often? Should I keep her inside for the duration? Should I still treat the whole flock with the tylosin? I do believe there are others that would benefit from treatment.

Amoxicillinwould be the one I would use first. The dose is 250mg per day for ten days. Divide the 500mg capsule into two doses. Then take a sugar cube size piece of bread and dip it in olive oil and then sop up one of the 25mg doses with it. It's an easy way to get two 250mg doses from one 500mg capsule.

Thank you! I started the amoxicillin this evening. I'll keep her inside for the 10 days because I feel like it would be best for the whole flock to start treatment with the tylosin as soon as it arrives. I do not want her to get a double dose of antibiotics.
I've noticed she has passed a very small amount of stool today. Way less than normal for a chicken.

It would appear the whole flock is getting sick now with the first ones to show symptoms not improving. And we had very few eggs today compared to the last week. And Peepers is not eating his scrambled egg that he usually loves.
They were out free ranging all day so hopefully that is a good sign.

I am frustrated it is taking a week to receive the meds when I paid extra for 2 day shipping 😡 I am getting worried Friday is too far off.

@azygous

Wouldn't you know the tylosin powder came today.

I've already given 2 doses of amoxicillin. Is it too late to switch her to the tylosin with the rest of the flock? She is not happy in the house and I'd love to see her outside in the warmer, drier weather able to free range.

I am going to start the tylosin treatment outside right now. It looks to be 1 tsp per gallon of water changed daily.
