Hi .... I'm very new to BYC and also new to chicken raising. One my three Red Sexlinks was noticeably slow acting yesterday......and by this morning, she is not walking. She is scooting around. She has never laid an egg and I was told that she was 1 year old when I bought her. I fear that the person who sold her to me was not quite honest. I've made her comfortable by putting pine shavings under her, but she can barely move. Her breathing is labored and she seems to be comfortable, but not "right"..... at all.
One other "poop" note......it's runny - white / yellowish in color. Up until yesterday, she feeds by free ranging and Layena pellets. I occasionally give cracked corn, but mainly as a "treat".
In the two months that I've had her, she has gotten bigger and bigger. We all kind of joked about it, but now it seems her weight is too much. Her feet also seems to curl up when I pick her up - like they aren't functioning anymore.
Does anyone have any advice? Thanks for any advice you might lend....
