Not here...
Hi my brown tetra hen is limping. When I felt along her leg it felt like it was maybe dislocated. Its been like this for a few days. A couple days ago it seemed like it was getting better but today she cannot run, barely walk a few feet, and has to use her wings a lot. The foot on the injured leg is turned a bit sideways. When I first started noticing the limping there was a black spot, maybe a bruise, on that leg. She is still laying beautiful eggs each day. I dont know if her leg is dislocated or broken.

Ya I'll take a few later today when i have time. In the middle of making lunch, then I have to do chores and spanish.

Ok here she is. No I haven’t thought of making a sling and I don’t know how or what type would work for a chicken.

Ok... hmm I don’t know if there are any avian vets out here. I’ll have to ask around. I don’t think maple will like that much. She liked running around even with an unjustly but its better than having her injure herself further.

If she fusses too much, it's not too necessary to keep her in it if you're confident she can still at least walk on it. I've seen them used mostly for broken legs, Mareks, etc. There's nothing on the bottom of her foot or sores on her haunches, is there? Just wondering if she's been sitting on one weird or not, with her sore leg.

What does the bottom of the feet look like?
I don't really see any bruising, there is one spot on the leg with a discolored scale. Some of the scales on the feet are slightly raised as well. I would rub some oil or vaseline into them once a week - could be the beginning of Scaly Leg Mites.

I wouldn't put her in a sling just yet. Try limiting her activity for most of the day so she can rest the leg. A cage or kennel set up in the run works well.

I talked to a friend who used to be an avian vet and said there is something up with her knee and hip but that there is nothing we can do about it. She said to just let her be.
