Hen killed chick!

One of my hens that was sitting on eggs pecked a chick and killed it. I have three hens that all have been sitting on the same eggs and last night when one of the chicks cracked thru and got out she pecked at it a few times hard! And it died. So I put the one hen in a dog crate in the coop with the eggs. I'm wondering if I will be able to let the chicks out by her ever!!?? Has anyone had this problem?

Take them from the killer mom, and leave them under one hen in the crate till they hatch. That mom should protect them.
