Hello all,
I have a hen that recently came into laying age but has an issue. Its been roughly a month since she first laid an "egg", no shell just yolk and white. For roughly two weeks she laid almost every day no shell eggs, twice she laid very soft shell eggs that broke and once she actually laid an egg that was hard enough to stay intact but felt like a water balloon. its been roughly a week since she last laid an egg. She is acting completely normal and isn't acting bound or sick, she just hasn't laid anymore eggs. I know with cooler temperatures and less daylight chickens usually start lying less during fall/winter but she just completely stopped for roughly two weeks now.
right now she is eating all flock with oyster shell on the side along with BSF worms almost every other day. She also gets veggies (lettuce/tomatoes). I have thought about getting some calcium +D3 supplements to see if she needs some help.
any thoughts or insight?
