I let the last of my bielefelder hens be a yard chicken. I noticed two days ago that she had her mouth open but I figured it was because it was over 80 and she still had her winter fluff.
She made herself a nest near my workshop and I just found her there laying on her side sprawled out. She's alive but is trying not to open her eyes. Wings are cocked back and her neck is kind of arched to the rear with her neck feathers puffed up.
I'm gonna try to move her and take pics right now.
