One of our three hens has been laying on her side for the past two days and won't walk. She's easily approachable so yesterday I was able to inspect her.
Her eyes are bright without discharge. Breathing is normal. She will eat when food and water are placed in front of her. And if I try to put her on her back, she will resist a little. I didn't notice any mites, her feet and legs weren't scaly, and she has no lesions. I don't believe she is egg-bound either since she's not trying to push
The only thing visibly wrong with her is that she won't put weight on her legs, her vent was pretty messy, and her comb is a pale dark red instead of the rich vibrant red.
My boyfriend is going into town today so he will be able to pick up what she needs if I can figure out what's going on with her.
Thank you all in advance for any help you can offer!
