I saw the strangist thing today one of my hens walked out of the coop she looked fat and had a strange look on her face like she was in a trance she was hissing then she plopped out a formed egg and a rubber looking egg the other chickens devoured the rubber egg after which the rooster tried to peck at the solid egg I shushed him away and gathered the egg left on the ground

IS MY HEN OK? HAS ANYONE EXPERINCED THIS TYPE OF HEN FLOCK behavior BEFORE?

She worked out a kink in the system, the normal egg was yesterday's egg, the rubbery one was today's that haden't had enough calcium laid on it yet.

watch her to make sure she doesn't get eggbound- good luck.

it happens sometimes, like you witnessed there is no evidance left of non shelled eggs if out in the open.
