Hen lethargic, eye swollen, pecked at

One of my hens is suddenly fairly lethargic, and one of her eyes seems pretty swollen. Her other eye seems fine. She’s also missing some feathers around her neck, I’m assuming pecked at by other hens. But I’m not sure if they pecked her because she’s unwell, or unwell because she’s been pecked at.

I was out of town for three days, and came back to notice two other hens have gone broody. My neighbor who checked on them did say she noticed that the sick chicken was jostling for space with the two broody ones, so maybe they just beat her up?

I only have 6 hens total.

I’ve given her some electrolytes in water, and also sprayed some vetericyn on the wounds.

Here are some photos. It was raining, so that’s why she’s wet.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Do you have rooster?

I would clean the eye with saline, then apply an ointment like Terramycin in the eye.

She's been beat up, has a swollen eye, so may not be drinking and eating well.
Do get her hydrated, then offer food.

Is she laying eggs?

I don’t have a rooster.

I’ve cleaned the eyes and applied Terramycin, thank you!

Not eating or drinking much. I’ve isolated her with her own food and water. No eggs for a few days.

She’s mostly just kinda standing around somewhat low to the ground, a little puffed up.

Check her over good to see if she's got any lice or mites. See that her crop is emptying overnight.
Is she pooping? What's that like?
Any bloat or fluid in the abdomen?

Could be the broodies just got wound up like broodies do and beat her up, but it's a good idea to check her out in case she's got something else going on.

Don’t see any lice or mites.

Hard for me to tell about her crop. I’ve felt it but it doesn’t seem unusual.

She’s pooping very little, but also not eating much if at all, it’s kinda watery yellow, but doesn’t look much unlike other yellow poops they sometimes have.

She does seem somewhat more alert and doesn’t want to be held (which is usual for her), she can open her eyes but seems to want to keep them mostly closed. When I go to check on her she opens them.

My guess is that she got beat up. She’s certainly not getting any worse as far as I can tell. Might just keep her isolated awhile longer.
