I doubt you'll find fish-zole locally at a store, but a pigeon breeder might have some since they use it to treat canker.

Thanks for that input.
I took a guess and found it on Amazon...gotta love that A to Z.

Good to know its there and for others who follow this thread later.
I'm waiting this out with the Tetracycline (which is supposed to be good for airsaculitis and Ecoli overgrowth) as I think it is E coli overgrowth typical after IB and she is showing improvement....I personally really doubt Blackhead just cuz I know my area and that would be rare...possible...but unlikely...just playing the odds. The weather has been really dry, and the Ecoli respiratory problems are supposed to creep in with dust...so it makes sense why it would hit her now.
If Tetracycline doesn't cure it, I may look to Fish Zole but at that point I honestly will likely just cull. I can't have a hen that isn't going to improve my flock or be usable for eggs for my customers...I sell under a loophole in the farm laws so I really want to be squeaky clean and only use hens for selling eggs that have always been treated with FDA approved meds...and I know the FDA has pulled metronidazole for birds that are for human consumption, or the eggs thereof...and unless I want to separate her out forever and use her eggs only for the family, well....not sure I have enough kennels and coops as I'm maxed out there with broodies and sickies already.
I did put the rest of the flock on Rooster Booster Triple Action Multi Wormer...Hygromycin B (which kills worms including cecal worms that can harbor the histamoanis protozoa) and Bacitracin (an antibiotic good for CRD, etc.)...even though they are not showing any symptoms just to be safe and proactive. I like Rooster Booster Multi Wormer as it is FDA approved for laying hens and has no egg withdrawal.
Hopefully it will just be this one girl...and again I'm not surprised it's her....I've been waiting for the "other shoe to drop" so to speak...just gave her time and hope after the IB.
...now to figure out which bird is laying the fragile eggs...another IB result. Sigh.
Thanks again for all the wealth of knowledge you guys shared...I read the literature and have bookmarked those lovely photos...I like poop photos...they really help you figure out what you are likely dealing with.
