I believe @casportpony knows the dosing for calcium gluconate - I do believe you can give it orally as well.

If I think mine need extra calcium I give either a TUMS or 1/2 tablet of Caltrate.

When using the 230% cattle product I give 0.2 ml per pounds of body weight, so 1 ml for the average sized 5 pound laying hen.

I bought oyster shell yesterday to start keeping out for them and the wife has tums and I think she has been giving them some of them. I will get the cattle calcium gluconate asap also for this evening going to do another very warm soak after administering lubricant. Now where did I leave that can of wd-40. kidding I will likely use the hemerhoid lube and maybe a little olive ooil with that. unless someone thinks the olive oil may hurt her.

I prefer to use KY jelly for lube. Water soluble makes for an easy cleanup when all is said and done.
