Hen Limping

I think I would confine her-even with a buddy. I would splint her leg and give her a baby aspirin.
Those symptoms of Marek's you list could be the symptoms of many different things. Or pain.

Do you have a link that shows how to splint it?

So I could put baby aspirin, apple cider vinegar, vitamins to her water?

How much of all of those should I add to how much water?

I find that touching them in certain places is a stimulus for preening. I can touch my hens in a couple different places and they'll begin to preen. (or angrily peck my fingers

) Also, I find that cupping their chins with 4 fingers and gently rubbing their head with your thumb makes them strech their neck out. (asking for a good rub lol) Unless it's a little red or swollen I wouldn't worry too much about it

the apple vinegar is recommended at 2% concentration, as per the link i gave you. The baby vitamins, you would just put a drop or 2 in her beak. The vitamin b you would crush and put just a small pinch in her food. Make sure there is no iron in any of them. This will not hurt the hen for sure, so it will either help or do nothing.

Not sure how you would mix the aspirin, i am thinking not in the water, but i have never given aspirin before.

I think you just need to step back, take a deep breath and let her rest for a few days. Birds can get injuries just like you do..... Sprains, strains, tears, etc etc...
If she is only acting ouchy on that leg....and not sick, I'll or in any real pain..... If she's not pasted on the back end, hasn't stopped eating or drinking, color mostly looks good..... Then just watch her. Sometimes doing too much can cause problems rather than help. Watery poo can mean she is drinking more...could mean all the extra stuff she is now eating is changing her poo.. Bright bright green ....can mean infection.... If you don't want to wait then you can take a fecal to the vet and have them see if anything is amiss internally...then go from there.

Hey everyone!

So yesterday, she was to the point where she was finally almost walking completely normal

But now I just came home and she is limping worse than ever!! What the heck? What do you think she is doing to cause this? I mean she is honestly unable to barely stand on that leg without falling today. Do you think she is jumping off roosts weird? I have shavings in there so its not like she is jumping onto cement. I am so confused....

Do you think looking into an Xray is necessary? I dont have any chicken vets around but I am hoping to beg our cat/dog vet to take one since we have given them a lot of money the past few years
