Hen Limping

Your chicken may have a hip or leg injury, like the other posts said. I would put her in a small area with food and water for a few days and see.

Good that she is laying...that eliminates some potential problems.
Poop-toe is non life threatening

so that is another eliminated.
Isolating her and keeping an eye on her is a good suggestion.
Keep us updated. I am cheering extra hard for your little girl as I lost a lovely SLW pullet last week

I cant help but feel sick over this. I am really hoping it is not Marek's. Do you think it could have been latent until now (16 months) and the stress of the new girls brought it out? How common is it with her age? I watched a youtube video of a hen limping with early signs of mareks which looked awfully similar to hers..... the hen eventually died of mareks. How fast is the illness? When would I start to have a good idea that that is what it is?'

I am keeping my fingers crossed it is just an injury. If it was a sprain, bruise, or something similar, would she let me know where it hurt?

I have her confined in a cage in my garage now, I'll see how she is doing in the morning. Now I stress that an animal will get in the garage and get her but the only predators that I think are around us is the neighbor dog, fox and maybe weasels. They would have to get in through broken window 4-5 feet up.

I havent noticed the poop being off but I will check in her cage.

Her comb is normal but her face is a little more pale than normal. Usually it's bright red.

Well those signs are not good...Try to mix up egg yolk and syringe feed her as much as she'll take. Any other signs?

Ugh, what is it a sign of or what does it mean?

Besides the limping, thats it.

Well, those signs mean that she might have something a little more serious than just a hip problem. My tip is to get them to open the mouth then stick the syringe in.Then try to squeeze in as much as you can into her mouth so she'll swallow it. If she doesn't get better in a week and gets worse, I'd get worried. It wasn't your fault if it is a disease, they can pop up just from the weather! You didn't cause this problem!
