Hen loosing neck feathers!

My bantam hen is loosing a lot of neck feathers I don't think she's molting because she still has the roots but I haven't seen the others hens pecking her, does she look sick? What's happening!

She seem like she's uncomfortable around the other hens too.

She's molting - blood/pin feathers are coming in. Other birds may be pecking at the pin feathers.

I think she’s molting. The other chickens could be pecking at them.

Just normal molting. The 'roots' you are seeing are the new feathers growing in.

She's got the dreaded MOLT. All chickens eventually molt.

Some go nearly bald:

Keep her on a good quality diet and all should go well.

It's only been a few days since she lost them though I thought it would take longer for them to grow back.

Nope. It's actually the new feather developing that pushes the old feather out. Similar to when kids lose their baby teeth.

You want to see pin feathers. That is a good sign she is able to regrow feathers at a normal rate, and her flock mates aren't picking her bald.
