Hey, folks!
I was checking on the girls today after a few days out of town (my MIL cares for them and she is very attentive) and noticed my year-old Copper maran hen is missing dang near all her nails….. she is the only one in this condition.
I’m not sure if it could be related, but she also hasn’t laid an egg in about two and a half weeks. There have been no major changes to diet or extremes in weather.
Could this be she got picked on? Or some medical condition I need to treat?
Please advise!! I feel terrible for her.

Looks like she had a bit if frostbite a while ago (maybe a month or 6 weeks) , they fall off and she'll be fine
Thank the lord!!! Should I bother treating with anything? Epsom salt bath? Or leave her be?
I can tell it’s a bit painful for her to walk.

It's mostly healed now so there's nothing to be done besides monitor for any infection. There shouldn't be but it won't hurt to watch for.
For future note, if a bird gets frost bite, it's best not to touch it at all it apply anything or it will get worse. They usually heal fine. :)

Ok!! Thank you again. I will keep an eye on my girl and watch the others. I’m not sure what she did different than everyone else, but am honestly… she has always acted like a loner.

We just noticed this with one of our polish hens. We also had a cold and LONG winter. She’s not walking funny or anything. They are kinda swollen and warm, so I’ll probably treat with antibiotic spray. I wonder: Will the toenails grow back?
