Hi everyone,
My hen (almost 5yo Australorp chicken) has not been eating and not behaving as a healthy hen. I took her to the bird vert where she stayed under observation for the past 3 days. They ran lots of tests but cannot identify why she is suddenly lethargic and off her food. I paid $800 for them not to identify the cause. I am just wondering if anyone out there may have experienced the same or might have an idea that has not been considered yet? My hens have a large garden to roam in, a nice safe coop fresh veges each day, clean water and chicken seed on tap. I only have two hens, and the ill one is actually the larger dominant one, so she is not being bullied. It's not parasites, poison, heat stress, bullying, or any of the other things I have read that are thought to turn a hen off her food. All ideas welcome! Thanks for reading.
