Hey all, I have a mlle fleur hen that's about 9 months old. She came into lay, laid three eggs and then quit in August/September. I have proper lighting and coop temp and she is with her favorite rooster and he doesn't breed with anyone. My seabright in a different indoor coop is laying like crazy. They're eating the same food, extra supplements when needed, and I'm scratching my head. She's not egg bound, I have had that evaluated and her comb is nice and red. Can they live life just producing an egg once in a while or should I be worried??

I have a EE/Silverudds mix hen that is now about a year and a half old. She laid a single egg when she was about five months of age and has not laid one since. I believe she has ovarian failure. She is otherwise healthy and happy and sometimes she will go sit in the nest box, as if she were going to do something, but nothing ever comes of it.
After reading many posts on here about this, I believe it is not entirely uncommon.🙂
