Hen Not Laying or Wanting Eggshells

She might just be stressed from the heat so she will take a break then start laying golf ball eggs dor a qhile till it cools off.

Hopefully she gets back into the swing of things whether it be weather related or not. My grandmom misses the eggs! haha
She has a lot of places to go but her main spot is a dirt "nest" that she mostly hangs out in all day under the big pine tree with water right next to her. So knock on wood everybody remains good and chill for however long this heat lasts for

My year+ JG hen has stopped laying all together after a couple small incidences. She was the consistent one until now. Even her sister who has been through more is back to laying. We've looked all across and around the yard and have found no signs of other nests or eggs.
Now I have four young birds who can't be on layer feed yet so all six birds are on chick feed. I've been separately giving the older two girls eggshells for the boost of calcium but now the one not laying is refusing to eat them, whereas her egg-laying sister scarfs them down. Other than that she seems healthy and active so I'm not sure what to do and haven't really found anything helpful or know what else to look for, or if there's really too much of a problem at all.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
How old are your little ones and she might be more traumatized than her sister just keep offering her the egg shells and maybe give her some scrambled eggs with shell crushed in it

The four babies are approximately 9 weeks old. G, the one not laying now, was actually acting a lot more motherly toward them than her sister who is the one who goes broody all the time. The only thing I see is the two older birds keeping themselves in charge especially when it comes to food when I'm around and my attention. Other than that they act like two mothers to the little ones and get along just fine. I'll try giving them scrambled eggs one day if my grandmom wants to give up the eggs haha

Well you have 9 more wks till you can give them all layer feed but i would definitely try some scrambled eggs you only need 2eggs and crush the shell separately almost make the shells powder to mix it in with the scrambled eggs and she maybe just molting and you know the chicks can have grit and oyster shells mine have access to grit after they are 3wks old my flock has access to grit and oyster shell at all time and my ducks my flock right now in my main coop range from 2wks to 17wks they all have access

Yeah they did a little molt- feathers everywhere, it was like they exploded- so that was why she I think she initially stopped again. They had an incident right before that where they were scared out of the coop and all she wanted to do was lay in the porch and then the molting happened. But I will definitely give her scrambled eggs. Thanks for the advice
