8 month old hen still not laying yet 4 others started between 5 and 6 months old

chicken .tractor supply chickens was told they were jersey giants but not a single one is a jg. so have no idea what they are. one looks like ameraucana but lays brown eggs i think there all cross bread

it is cooler weather right now here in south west florida but other 4 hens i average three eggs a day

They'll start soon, short days don't trigger laying hormones

Animals are animals - she should probably be close to laying, but just like anything else, sometimes you get an animal with a genetic glitch that does not allow them to reproduce. In a chickens case, that would me no eggs.

It's not the cold, it's the short days that shuts down egg production. Still, if the others are laying ... she should be right there with them unless she's a late bloomer or has a reproductive issue.
