IMG_2961.JPG IMG_2962.JPG IMG_2963.JPG Hello friends,

I just noticed yesterday, that one of my hens, a Cuckoo Marans approximately 2 years old, has odd looking legs. In sunlight, her legs appear white while her feet appear her normal color. She is well otherwise, her gait is fine, (walking, scratching as usual). Her poops are normal, appetite good, she's laying as far as I know, she's one of 28 hens. All the other chickens legs appear to be fine, meaning their legs and feet are the same color with no roughness. She's the only one with this oddness.

Pictures are below.

Maybe it's normal for her (although I never noticed it before, she's been her several months).

Or whether it points to some other possible condition? Mites? Other bugs? Etc?

Thanks for any information or leads you can share! Buck=bucka!

If Vaseline doesn't do it, Ivermectin will. I used the kind for cows and a baby dosing syringe. It's applied to the skin out of reach (back of the neck) and works very well. I treated everyone at night for ease of application and because the mites will just walk from one hen to the next while they sleep. It takes time for the symptoms to show so seeing it on one means that there are probably others with it that you don't know about yet.

That's a great point. Probably should treat everyone and get the coop cleaned out! Usually if one has it...
