Hey guys. I need to be on here more, I feel bad asking advice again without really joining in.
Anyway.
I found one of my Japanese bantam x hens (@12 months old) lying in the hen house this afternoon, off her legs.
No sign of injury, otherwise in top health and alert.
She had an egg under her, is it possible shes trapped a nerve passing the egg?
As I said, she's completely off her legs and just falls to the side if put on the floor.
Any suggestions apart fro the usual wait and see?
She's in a box in my house atm.

I’ve got a weird thought. Is she broody?

When I take a broody off the nest, sometimes they kind of lay there for a couple of minutes before they get up and eat, drink, and such or head back to the nest. Most don’t do this, but the one I have now does.

I don’t have any great advice other than to just try to observe a bit. That broody thing is the only thing I can think of from my experience and I know it is a long shot. Good luck!

Hmm.. its a possibility I guess. Her mothers sitting atm and one of the others had to be wrangled off her egg this morning. First time I've seen that though!
Fingers x'd she'll be ok in a bit

I don't know, everyone else seems fine and up until today, she was too. I only wondered if it was a pinched/trapped nerve because I found her having laid an egg.
She's away from the others now anyway.

Sadly had to euthanize the hen late last night.
She was in a lot of distress, and when its that obvious you know its something serious

Keeping an eye on the others (all good so far) but if anyone still has any theories about this, please post them x
