Ok I have tried 3 times to do eggs in the bator no luck... I got a shipment in today, sassy silkies, should I put them in the bator or give to one of my hens. she has successfully raised chicks in the past. the bator is a brower. i ave a spot check thermometer coming in next week. right now I have 5 thems in it and none say the same thing. really getting aggravated here.

I would give it to the broody hen, but I would have the incubator ready just in case she stopped setting! How many eggs are you getting? What breed is your broody? Good Luck!

I haven't had a broody frizzled before, but cochins are good broodies! You shouldn't have any trouble with her NOT setting on them!!! You might want to mark the eggs you put under her with a pencil, so if she lays an egg you can get it out! Unless you want her to have them! 6 eggs will probably be about right for her!!! Are the eggs your giving her standard eggs or Bantam eggs? Good luck!

she is setting silkie eggs. I just brought her in and gave them to her. she walked around the cage got a drink and then noticed the eggs in the box. she quickly waddled over (they don't really run) and arranged the eggs and instant broody. I tell people I would not take money for this hen. She was a freebe I was buying some blue cochins and the man threw he in for free shw was in the middle of a molt and UGLY now she is cute but boy one funky bird.

that's great she is such a broody hen.
I would keep her too.
A hen is the best incubator you can have.
I prefer a hen always before an incubator. Let nature do her thing and just watch from the side.
