Hen or Jake?

Any guess on what this little guy is? Its a royal palm from my understanding. Right about 3 weeks old. It seems like half my pullets are loosing their feathers on their heads, any chance this is a sign of sex?

I think it is too young to tell the gender yet. It doesn't look like my royal palms did. They had black stripes on them.

The loss of fuzz on the head could be a sign. A jake's head will lose all fuzz, while the jenny will keep a strip of fuzz going up the center of the back of the head down the neck to the shoulders.

I know I thought it would have more black as well, but my other royal palms out of the same hatch don't have much. Thanks for the fuzz loss input.

Mine have varying amounts of black. I have one from last year from a hatchery that turned out all white. She is the friendliest one and has laid almost every other day since last November, so she has a pardon. But I have to separate her out during pure bred egg season and that doesn't make her very happy.
