I’m hoping for a hen but feel like this may be a boy. What do you think?

Thank you! My orpington is very pink and has very little comb and no waddle yet. This is the only RIR and seems very red to me. We are getting ready to move where only upto 10 hens are allowed in the city limits. I don’t want to get rid of any early but I’m also scared we will wake up to crowing one day...

I understand your concern. If it were younger than 15-16 weeks, I would agree, but at almost 4 months, the redness and size of the comb/wattle in a RIR still says pullet to me. I would not get rid of it unless it actually started to crow. The first crows are always sweet and funny--even nosy neighbors would be unlikely to complain. Good luck!

Good! I thought they were not supposed to be so red so early and my Barred Rock chicks the same age have lil waddle and have pink combs.
