Hen or roo Barred rock?

this is hopper, got him/her over the summer along side his/her sister chip vvv

hopper in the same pose vvv

Age is unknown, but hopper and chip are the same age we got them the same day from wilco. Any idea on rooster or hen?

Edit: Temper is very sweet. Friendly. Comfortable around humans. I dont want to grab hopper because i try to but he/she doesnt like it, and IF it is a rooster grabbing it will make it aggressive. Atleast the other 2 roosters weve had to sell were all friendly until we grabbed them to check their neck feathers and saddle feathers, then they got defensive, skittish, and aggressive. But maybe when theyre on the perch i can check neck/saddle feathers

Boys less than a year old are cockerels.

I rather call mine hens when the pullets start laying though, but technically, they are still pullets.
