Hen or Roo? if it's a pullet, why is is fighting our cockerel?

it's a mottled Japanese bantam, about 8 weeks.

Pullets reject mating until after they've begun to lay eggs. Cockerels get hormones sooner than pullets and may show interest in sex at a precocious age.

Yes, he has a very big comb and waddles (they are both red) . The cockerel is a black Japanese bantam, the same age as popcorn. (image below)

This handsome little guy is starflight, the one she fights with. He is already crowing. (sorry about the quality, I take pictures with a Chromebook and he wouldn't stop moving around!)

Bantams seem to be very impressed with themselves. You may want to begin teaching him some manners.

This is just normal japanese bantam stuff. Iv'e seen them fight a potato on the counter. She does not care one bit he's a male she just wants to kick the butt.
