I'm reposting this thread because the previous thread I posted had some issues and I didn't get any answers. Anyway this is my light brahma, who I think might be a roo. She has wattles and a pink comb, and has had very thick legs ever since I got her at a day old. I heard that her breed shouldn't have pink combs, much less wattles, at this age if she was a pullet. So, hen or roo?

Yeah, I've been getting mixed answers..I also posted this on Reddit , and one person answered, saying it's a hen... Does anyone have experience with brahmas? I only have 1, sadly.

Never had them before but I have had Cochins and I had one I thought was a hen but started crowing at 4-5 weeks old so I would say if it is not crowing in 1-2 weeks it is probably a pullet but the pictures look like a rooster.

I’m guessing cockerel. The comb looks pretty big to me. My light Brahma has big legs as well as well as comb turning pink kinda early but the comb is still pretty small.

Oh wow, do they start crowing that fast?
I guess time will tell. I heard that some cockerels crow at 1 month and some at 6 months 🤣

Do you know about how often they will try to crow when they first start? Because I have 2 silkie roos that might start crowing soon, and If one crows and I didn't see it, I probably can't know who's the one crowing. If I just sit by then for like an hour, will I see each of them crow, (if they all started)?

I would walk into the building where he was and I would hear crowing from his pen he was with other chickens in there and he would stop crowing every time I tried to look who was crowing at first I thought that one of the hens with him was really a rooster but then I finally looked at who was crowing
